The University Of General Lansana Conte Sonfonia – Conakry is a public university in West Africa located in the city of Conakry, the capital of the Republic of Guinea. The University of General Lansana Conte Sonfonia-Conakry (UGLC-SC) was founded in 2005 and was renamed after the second President of the Republic of Guinea, Lansana Conte, on 14 January 2006. This University was built with the aim to benefit those who have been deprived of or denied the access to higher education especially the economically weaker sections of the society, and those who discontinued education for various reasons, etc. It aims to reach the hitherto the unreachable.
